2020 COVID-19 POLICY AND RULES FOR DOG RIVER HORSE CLUB
Effective June 22, 2020 Until Further Notice
Anyone entering a DRHC event must adhere to the 2020 Covid-19 Policy and Rules while on
the property or venue. Those admitted and found not in compliance with the Rules will be
asked to leave the event and will not be allowed re-entry. Additionally, all State and local laws
that may be applicable at the time of entry must be followed. DRHC reserves the right to make
changes to these policies / rules at any time to stay in compliance with State and local laws
and for the protection of our competitors and staff.

DRHC COVID-19 POLICY AND RULES:
If you are experiencing ANY of the symptoms related to the Covid-19 virus, PLEASE STAY
HOME and contact your healthcare professional. For a list of symptoms visit: www.cdc.gov
Anyone with a fever, a temperature of 100.4 or above per CDC Code of Federal Regulations
parts 70/71, will be asked to leave for the safety and well-being of our other riders and event
staff. There will be no exceptions.
Persons in attendance will follow Vermont State Governor Scott’s Addendum 15 to Executive
Order 01/20, as well as the most recent update to the Memo for New Work Safe Additions to
the Stay Home Stay Safe Order including but not limited to Phase 4.2 Outdoor Recreation
Businesses, Facilities and Organizations effective June 22, 2020 or the most current Addendum
and Memo, Further Addendums to the Executive order shall be adhered to upon execution by
the Governor. For the safety and well-being of all our competitors and staff anyone that has
been out of State or lives out of State is encouraged to follow the most recent directives
The State of Vermont has determined that any county with less than 400 active cases of COVID-19 per one million residents meets this criteria. The Agency will publish an updated map and list each Monday by 5 p.m. at accd.vermont.gov identifying quarantine and non-quarantine counties throughout New England and New York. Vermonters must remember to follow any travel restrictions and quarantine requirements for the states they plan to visit.
We are practicing an “arrive, play and leave” mentality. Please keep the time spent at the
DRHC event to a minimum to protect yourself and others from exposure.
DRHC is open to “Event People” only. Riders, Competitors, Staff, Parents and immediate
family, or persons attending solely as a minor’s guardian, are considered “event people”.
Guardians wishing to assist a minor at the gate must accompany the minor in the same vehicle
upon arrival. If you are not one of these, you are not allowed to enter the DRHC event.
All competitors are encouraged to make your run, then pack up and head back home with limited social contact. Social distancing must be practiced by all while at the event.
Until further notice, All competitors are encouraged to stay at your trailers unless competing or signing up, or otherwise absolutely necessary and maintain a safe 6 feet or greater distance from all others while on the grounds. Competitors will be held responsible for the area around their trailers and ensuring that those affiliated with their trailer adhere to the rules. Please discuss with everyone the importance of following the DRHC Rules.
Anyone outside and more than 6 feet away from their own truck and trailer area is encouraged
to wear a face covering and practice social distancing by remaining 6 feet apart from others.
Face coverings are not recommended during strenuous activity.
There will be NO CONGREGATING anywhere on the site. In the event of a storm, please shelter
in your own truck and trailer. Social interactions must be limited, and gatherings are to be of 150
or fewer people, keeping a 6-foot distance from others when you are with others outside of
your household. Groups may not congregate before or after activities and there will be no “tailgating”. Any competitors found congregating may be asked to leave for the safety and well-being of the other competitors.
No more than one person at a time will be allowed at our Show office window unless it is for a
youth in which case the minor’s guardian will be allowed to accompany. Please remain 6’ apart
behind anyone standing in line at the office window.
No more than 150 people total at one time are allowed in show office line and you are
encouraged to wear a face covering and must always remain 6 feet apart. Please keep our
staff, gatekeepers and ring crew safe by staying at least 6 feet away at all times.
All riders must wait at their trailers until such a time that they can enter the arena.
Riders warming up must try to remain at least 6 feet from other horse and riders while in the
Signups will be pre-registration and payment is encouraged to be made at the time of preregistration to minimize contact with event staff. Anyone signing up at the show office is encouraged to pre pay if possible.
There is a Sanitary Stations located at the show. Please use the sanitizer frequently. Please avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth. Cover any coughing or sneezing.
Do not litter. If you carry it in carry it back out so the staff does not have to touch possible
contaminated items that may have been discarded improperly.
Touched surfaces will be disinfected by DRHC periodically but we all need to do our part.
Please make the effort to frequently clean, disinfect and sanitize any surfaces and equipment
that you or others may encounter. This includes the use of portolets. You will be required to
disinfect the portolet after each use. Disinfectant will be provided at the portolet location.
Participation at a DRHC event is at your own risk. DRHC or any of its affiliates or partners are
not liable for any individual’s possible exposure to Covid 19. Claims related to Covid 19 cannot
be brought against DRHC or any of its affiliates or partners for any reason.
Any individuals found not obeying the outlined policy and rules may be asked to leave for the
safety and well-being of the other attendees.
We are all in this together. Let’s do our part to take this seriously to keep everyone safe and
healthy and continue to be a part of the sport we all love.
